Take advantage of new ways to sort on the checks screen.

Saving checks is a powerful way to improve the efficiency of your storefront, allowing you to add items to an order as soon as the customer orders them and wait to collect payment until they’re ready to leave. The downside? When your business is busy, you may find yourself scrolling through dozens of open checks, making it time consuming to find the exact check you’re after. This can be especially true in restaurants and bars, where waiters often decide to wait until all the guests have left to enter the tips written on signature slips.

Enter the new Sort Checks feature now available in version 2.35.0 of the iOS register app. In addition to the existing option to sort checks by time elapsed, you can now also sort your open checks by check name or order number to quickly find the one you’re looking for.

Sorting by check name is great for bars that name checks after customers to quickly find a check when the guest is ready to close their tab. Whether Billy, Jennifer, or Dan arrived first, a quick sort will put their checks in an order you can understand quickly.

Sorting by order number is especially useful for restaurants that name checks after tables and may have multiple checks with similar names over the course of a shift. Now instead of fumbling through those, you find checks by order number, with order numbers even appearing on each check tile.

Sorting by time elapsed continues to be useful any time you want to quickly locate a check based on how long it has been open. Plus, there is something new here as well: you can reverse the sort so the oldest open checks appear on top! Note that you can also reverse the sorting of the other options as well.
