What Can Our New Transactions Table Tell You About French Coffee? More Than You’d Expect.
We’re super excited today to launch our latest new feature, the Transactions Table! Conveniently located in your BackOffice, the Transactions Table offers you direct access to your data to help you make smarter business decisions more easily than ever. To get started, be sure to review our step-by-step guide on how to access and use it.
Not sure if the Transactions Table is right for you? For those of you who don’t know, we have our very own coffee shop set up at ShopKeep POS world headquarters where we ring up sales and test out new products so that all of our employees can experience first-hand what you and your cashiers do every day.
The Transactions Table has already come in handy here in helping us figure out which coffee flavors we should be ordering. To figure this out, we started by looking at which coffee flavors were the most popular over the past 30 days. To do this, the first thing we did was set the dates in the top right from March 19 to April 18. Next, we used the “Filter by” field at the top left to filter down to only transactions that included the category of “Coffee”. Now that we had our list, it was time to use the Sold Items Export and put it into Excel for more detailed analysis!
A quick look showed an interesting distribution. We offer ten flavors of coffee and the bottom three (Colombian, French Vanilla, Sumatra) combined to make up less than 10% of all coffee consumed for the 30 day period. The next six were all relatively close in consumption (10-13%), while French Roast sat atop the list with nearly 18% of all cups consumed.
So what does this mean? It means that our orders for Colombian, French Vanilla, and Sumatra are going down next month and we’re doubling down on French Roast to satisfy the higher demand. Sound like a good idea? You can do the same sort of analysis now at your own store and figure out how to make smarter business decisions with ShopKeep POS!
Start answering questions like: How many coffees have you sold during the breakfast rush this week? Which employee sold the most shoes in March? What department is your most profitable? Share your favorite analyses with us in the comments.
