As more and more restaurants choose ShopKeep to help grow their business, we’re committed to growing our core functionality in this regard.

That’s why we’re following up our recent announcement of Open Checks and Tip Later functionality, with the introduction of our latest improvement: Split, Merge, and Transfer.

This feature allows a waiter to easily deal with some of the more complex scenarios presented by a group of diners looking to settle their check.  If a table would like to split a ticket into multiple checks, that’s not a problem.  If you need to merge two tickets, say a bar ticket with a ticket opened at the table, you can. And if you’re closing out your shift for the night and you need to hand over some tables to another waiter, we’ve got that covered too.

For people familiar with old-fashioned Windows based point of sale software, the whole experience here should be a breath of fresh air.  We’ve placed a heavy emphasis on creating a smooth user interface that makes the whole process of check management feel more intuitive and enjoyable.  If you’d like a detailed overview of how this functionality will work, you can check out our support article on the subject here.

If you want to take advantage of this new functionality, make sure to update your app to the most recent version.  Alternatively, if you’re a restaurant owner looking to find out more about ShopKeep’s restaurant functionality, you can give us a call on 800-820-9814.
