The new ShopKeep POS app is now live in the App Store! We’ve introduced a range of great new features, so if you haven’t already, get yourself in front of your iPad and download the latest version of the ShopKeep POS App. For a quick overview of what’s new, you can check out this video.

IMPORTANT NOTE: It’s important to update the App only when you are physically in your store! We have changed how ticket printing is setup and our auto-migration of your previous details will only work if you are able to connect to your remote printer(s) during the update.

To help you make the most of our new features we have written up a couple of posts that outline some of the key benefits. This post covers updates to your X and Z Reports, Improved Discounting Functionality, and Updates to our Split Tender Return Capabilities.

X and Z Reports

We recognize how important it is to have actionable information about your business, especially your cash flow. That’s why we’ve improved your Z Report, redesigning the layout and including more information. The Z Report now gives you the full story for your cash flow for your whole shift, making it easier than ever to reconcile your cash drawer.

Additionally, a new X Report is now available on the Manager Dashboard for printing during the shift. If you have a staff shift change and want to get a picture of the day so far, it’s not a problem – simply print an X Report.

Discount by a dollar/%.

We have increased the flexibility of our discounting functionality. You can now discount individual items or your entire sale by either a dollar amount or a percentage. Please note that an entire sale discount will override any individual item level discounts.

Split Tender Returns

We have increased the flexibility of returning a split tender sale, giving you more control over which splits you want to return. You may now choose which split you wish to return, making dealing with multiple payment types that much easier!

Extra Data Security for Manual Card Entry

We’ve added a ‘CVV’ field for manually-entered cards and changed Zip Code from an ‘optional’ to ‘required’ field. These steps will help ensure the legitimacy of each transaction. Many of our merchants who do phone orders or take down card info to charge later should ensure that they have this additional information to ensure they can process transactions.
