ShopKeep Hosts Women in Technology Forum
Event Featured Insights from Leading Women in Business, Including Executives from ShopKeep, Gilt Groupe and Bonobos
ShopKeep, the cloud-based technology solution that transforms an iPad into a smart, connected cash register that is used by more than 24,000 independent businesses, yesterday hosted a Women in Technology forum at the company’s corporate headquarters in New York City. The forum included a panel discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities facing women in technology, and featured insights from female leaders from ShopKeep, 1stDibs.com, Bonobos, Gilt Groupe and MMLaFleur.
“ShopKeep recognizes the significant impact a gender diverse workforce has on a company’s success,” said Crystal Caligiuri, Senior Vice President of Operations & Customer Care for ShopKeep. “As part of our ongoing effort to engage women in technology, we wanted to share the strategies, challenges and successes of female leaders in the industry with our community. The forum was a huge success and we look forward to collaborating with other women in technology in new and unique ways in the future.”
Crystal was joined on the panel by:
- Cristina Miller, Head of North American Dealer Relations for 1stDibs.com
- Dominique Essig, Chief Experience Officer for Bonobos
- Ruxandra Levy, Senior Director of Mobile Engineering for Gilt Groupe
- Kate Muzzatti, Senior Vice President of People Operations for MMLaFleur
During the panel, the women made observations and shared anecdotes on leadership, the importance of listening and delegation, as well the importance of having strong coaches and mentors to turn to. In discussing attracting women to technology organizations, the panelists agreed that diversifying recruitment has to be a full company-wide effort. With support and measurable goals coming from the leadership team, inspiring and engaging the rest of the company to take action.
Wednesday’s event marks ShopKeep’s second Women in Technology forum this year, following a similar event held by the company at its Portland, Oregon offices.
