So What’s New?

Building on the original functionality, we’ve introduced a number of new ways you can drive your customers to engage with your brand through email receipts. Here’s a quick list of the new functionality.

1. Linkable Logos: You can now more effectively drive your customers to your business website by embedding a link in your logo. So, when you’re uploading your business logo in the ShopKeep BackOffice, make sure to associate your preferred URL.

2. Image and Text Promotional Banners: We’re big believers in marketing ‘from the feet up‘, so we’ve given you more creative control over the images you use to highlight promotions on your Custom Email Receipts.

3. Instagram Option in Social Links: On top of Email, Facebook, Twitter, and Yelp, we’ve listened to your feedback and added the popular image-sharing site, Instagram to the social links section of your receipt.

Building Your Receipts Just Got Even Easier With Live Preview in the ShopKeep BackOffice

Building a balanced email receipt, like so much in marketing, is about attention to detail. That’s why we’ve made it possible to preview the receipt as you build it. Now you can customize your receipts and know exactly what your customers are going to receive.

More and more small business owners are waking up to the value of collecting customer emails at the point of sale – and the importance of following up with effective email marketing. However, in our conversations with small business owners across the country, it’s also clear that many feel intimidated by the process of building a mailing list, finding an email marketing tool, and building a solid campaign. To help you get started we’ve asked our Email Marketing Specialist, Hadley Deming to put together a step-by-step, Small Business Guide to Email Marketing.

Original Post:

This powerful tool allows you to personalize your email receipts with a logo, custom welcome message and links to your social profiles.

1. Logo: Brand your business email receipts by adding your logo to the piece your customers take home.

2. Custom Message: Add a custom message, like a quick thank you, or a promotional offer to encourage return visitors.

3. Receipt: This is an overview of your customers items purchased and transaction details line by line.

4. Online Profiles: Direct links to your social networks and Yelp, so you can encourage customers to be more active and spread the word about your business.

Why Send Custom Email Receipts?

We’ve made it quicker, easier, and more valuable than ever to utilize email receipts. Below we list a few of the key benefits of choosing email receipts over paper.

1. First off, you’re going to save on receipt paper costs, which can add up over the course of the year.

2. You can also run promotions on your email receipts to drive repeat business. As well as push people to your social profiles -as shown above. A single star bump on your Yelp profile has been shown to equate to a 5-9% increase in revenue, so any opportunity to push happy customers that way should be taken.

3. Crucially, you can build a mailing list which you can use to drive loyalty & acquire new customers.  Your customer database is available in your BackOffice and you can easily export all your data into email marketing tools like Mailchimp/Constant Contact. Studies consistently show that effective email marketing has a significant impact on revenue, so it’s important to place a premium on building, maintaining, and owning* your customer database.

*Unlike some of our competitors, ShopKeep believes your data is your data, so your customer emails are always available to you.

4. Finally, by offering email receipts on each transactions you can build up a transaction database that’s linked to specific customers, so you can run powerful, item level reports identifying all the customers who bought a particular item and then hit them up with a relevant email promotions.
