We Changed Our App Icons. Here’s Why
Last week I went to the Finovate conference – Finovate? What made up word is that you ask?
I wondered the same thing when I first heard about it. I soon realized that the event was all about how financial innovations in technology can simplify our lives – something we take very seriously here at ShopKeep POS.
Finovate is a world-renowned conference that attracts top financial investors, reporters, and executives from around the country who come to see the latest innovations. This year, ShopKeep POS was one of 64 startups selected to present at the event – our simple, intuitive iPad POS platform wowed all and we even nabbed Best in Show for the performance!
The conference was quite cool – two stages, an audience of 1,000 fin-techy onlookers, and a spotlight that ping ponged back and forth from one stage to the other. Each presenting company had only 7 minutes to truly ‘wow’ spectators with their innovative product and explain how it is disrupting the financial/tech industry. And we sure did.
During our presentation, our CEO and Founder, shared the ShopKeep POS iPad register and BackOffice with the audience. In 7 minutes he rang up a sale, showed our inventory management capabilities, reviewed key metric reports, and showcased the newly launched ShopKeep POS iPhone Dashboard App. For any of you who use ShopKeep POS, you probably guessed that 7 minutes is a lifetime given how simple it is to use our product, so our founder also had time to talk a little bit about our exciting new mobile payments partnerships with LevelUp and Dwolla – and show the audience how a PayPal transaction works on our register.
Other stand out companies also focused on how using technology can simplify your life. Learnvest.com showed how easy financial planning and gaining control of your finances can be. Dashlane is a company that makes online and mobile checkout super convenient by eliminating the need to fill out any fields, while maintaining maximum personal security.
It all goes to show that simple solutions can be smarter ones and reiterates what we strive for here at ShopKeep POS day in and day out – to be the simplest way to make smarter business decisions.
