Introducing Open Checks
ShopKeep is proud to introduce our newest feature, Check Management. With this new feature you will be able to hold tabs open for customers throughout your shift and let them pay for their transaction when they are ready.
As a merchant, you can ring up a customer who may not be ready to finish the transaction and move onto the next customer without having to delete the previous tab.
Let’s take a look at what this means in a little more detail.
Say that Joe and Jane are customers that come in and order a few drinks at the juice bar on a lazy Sunday. They would like to spend some time enjoying your place and maybe order more drinks a bit later. With the check management feature, you will be able to ring up the 2 drinks and muffin they are ordering now as normal. You would then tap the new Save button in the tenders area instead of closing the transaction.
This will save the check and allow you to either name the check or leave the check labeled as walk-in with a timestamp to let you know when this check was opened.
Once the check name is saved, the tab is saved automatically and will print to the ticket printer if needed. You can now carry on ringing up your next customers as normal.
Once you have taken a few customers, Joe and Jane return to order their last drinks.
To return to their check you just want to go to the control panel and select the new Checks tab!
This will bring you to a screen showing all the checks you currently have open. You can then just select the correct one – in this case, ‘Joe & Jane’.
Simply tap on the check and the system will automatically take you back to the transaction screen, populated with all their previous details. You can enter new items if needed – or just close out the transaction as normal.
It’s as easy as that!
