Where is…? What is…? Issues
This section focuses on the physical aspects of your iPad. Learn where buttons are and their functions. For a full run down of iPad buttons check out our article here.
Where is the Home button?
The Home button is the only physical button on the front of the iPad. It takes you back to the Home screen when you press it. Older iPad models have a rounded square icon on the Home button, while newer models are blank and often have touch-sensitive technology built into the Home button.
I need to plug my credit card swiper into the Lightning port. Where is that?
The Lightning port is the small port on the iPad where you would normally plug in your Lightning-to-USB cable to charge the iPad.

My iPad appears to be unresponsive. How do I restart it?
In the event of an unresponsive or frozen iPad, perform a hard reset to shut down and restart the iPad. To do this, hold down the power button and the home button at the same time until the screen turns completely black. After a few moments, hold down the power button again to reboot the iPad.
Make sure you know your iPad login code (typically 4 or 6 digits) and your WiFi Network’s password before performing a hard reset on your iPad. These will both be required upon restarting the iPad.
