Set up item fees

Item Fees page with selected items listed.

There may be circumstances where you need to add an additional fee to the cost of a good or service, like a fee for special handling, premium services, or regulatory compliance. With item fees, you can set up a new item fee, apply the fee to items, view item fees at the register and on receipts, and view or export transactions with item fees from the Transactions report.

Round up with cash rounding

Cash rounding page in the Back Office.

The cash rounding feature allows you to choose different rounding denominations and rules depending on your country’s currency. Once cash rounding is configured, Retail POS will round the amount owed when you take a cash payment.

To use the cash rounding feature, you must update to the latest Register version (10.3.0). Cash rounding is not yet available for Quickbooks integrations.

Track item updates with Change Logs

Change Log page.

The new Change Log page provides a complete audit trail of key updates made in your BackOffice, helping you troubleshoot more efficiently and improve accuracy and accountability across the team. You can view event log entries by item to quickly identify who made a change, what was changed, where it happened, and when it occurred.

Change Log tracks:

  • Item cost and price changes, including discount-related updates
  • Inventory quantity adjustments (including inventory counts and bulk changes)
  • Item status changes (active/inactive)
  • Tax rule or tax status changes

This feature is gradually rolling out and may not be currently available in your account. Events will be tracked as of the date the feature is enabled in your account.

Smarter search improvements

The search experience has been enhanced on the Item List and Update Inventory pages to offer more suggestions and flexibility, helping you find the right items faster. With these improvements, search can now recognize more values and return better matches, reducing the number of “no results” searches for less friction and quicker access to the items you need.

New Employee column in the Item History Table

A new Employee column has been added to the Item History Table to provide greater transparency on inventory movements, enhance traceability of inventory changes, and improve auditing and reporting accuracy.

This column clearly identifies the employee who initiated each inventory action, whether it’s an adjustment (count or receive), sale, or return. Previously, only the date, type, quantity, and adjustment reason were displayed in the Item History Table.

Export the Sales by Item report with custom breakdowns

Customize breakdown options

Merchants with access to the Sales by Item report can now export item sales data with more granularity by selecting the Value:

  • Quantity Sold
  • Sales Amount
  • Quantity Returned
  • Returns Amount

And the breakdown period (Order by):

  • Month
  • Weekday
  • Hour

With more granular exports, you can better understand trends, seasonality, and product performance at the level that matters most to you. This feature is available to merchants on Standard and Advanced plans with access to the Sales by Item report.

Saved views are now available in reporting

You can now save your report filters, meaning you no longer have to reapply the same filters for date ranges, categories, departments, or other filters every time you check your data. This new feature allows you to create and save custom views for the following reports:

  • Items
  • Modifiers and Variants
  • Categories
  • Departments
  • Suppliers
  • Employees
  • Customers
  • Discounts
  • Tenders
  • Tax Rates / Groups

With saved views, you can jump straight into the insights that matter most to your business, saving you time and keeping your go-to views just a click away. This feature is available to merchants on Standard and Advanced plans.

Improved Select All button in Sales Reports

The Select All button in Sales Reports filters has been improved so you can customize your reporting view and apply more precise filtering when gathering insights for your business. Now, when you use the Select All button after performing a search, only the items matching your search criteria will be selected, eliminating the need to manually select individual items when filtering by categories, top sellers, vendors, and more. This update applies to all reports under Sales reports, except tax rates/groups, tenders, and gift cards and deposits, for merchants on Standard and Advanced plans.

Filter by customer on transaction reports

A new Customer column has been added to the Transaction report, letting you filter all purchases made by a specific customer to help you better understand customer behavior, generate targeted reports, and gain valuable insights into your sales data.

Reordering item variants

Variant options in matrices can be added, deleted, and now rearranged. To reorder variant options, drag and drop the variant option into your desired sorting order on the item page. The variants table will automatically update to reflect the new arrangement. Reordering item variants provides more flexible, streamlined customization for how customers view your products.
